When she was asked at school "what did Daddy do?", she had no doubts and replied with certainty: "He photographs beautiful houses". And that's that! Since he began his career as an architectural photographer (in 2012), João Morgado has shot more than a thousand reports, covering the whole of Portugal, including the islands, but also countries such as Brazil, the USA, Mexico, Italy, France, Kuwait, among others.

In 2020, the Muse Design Awards awarded him Best Architecture Photographer. This merit was already recognized in 2014, when he won the ARCAID Awards in the UK, in the "Sense of Place" category, with his photograph of the Piscina das Marés, in Leça da Palmeira (Matosinhos), the work of architect Siza Vieira. The following year, in New York, he was classified as one of the ten best architectural photographers in the world.

His work is regularly published in various specialist publications such as Architectural Digest, Casa Bella, Wallpaper, Azure and id+C.

He is the co-founder of the Loop Design Awards, a prize created in 2020 that has already become an international reference in Architecture and Design.

He often says that "for as long as he can remember" he wanted to be an architect. And a 19.9 in the national exam for Descriptive Geometry earned him entry to the Instituto Superior das Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE), in Lisbon, where he took a master's degree in Architecture.

But it was during a professional internship in Maastricht, Holland, in 2009, that the architect Wiel Arets unintentionally discovered a talent in him that he never abandoned...
